CONCERTS

Situated just 10 minutes south of the Perth CBD, St. Mary’s is an exciting venue for concerts and recitals. A striking Art Deco building, it boasts an excellent acoustic and is an inspiring place to perform. Performances typically take place in the chancel which is a large flexible space with a wooden floor, large enough to accommodate a chamber orchestra.

The church seats approximately 170 people, and is air-conditioned for the comfort of patrons. It is equipped with a three manual Rodgers Masterpiece Signature 356B and a Yamaha C5 Grand Piano.

We regularly host concerts and recitals by solo performers as well as chamber groups. Recent concerts at St. Mary's have included performances by Mezzo-Soprano Fleuranne Brockway, internationally acclaimed concert organist Alessandro Pittorino, The Giovanni Consort, Australian Baroque, The Richard Wagner Society of WA, Opus Reed Quintet, St. Georges String Quartet, WA Stasis Trio, Lago Saxophone Quartet, and York Street Brass Quintet, and our own Choir "South Perth Chamber Choir" amongst others. We also host student recitals given by the West Australian Music Teachers Association and many private music teachers.

The adjoining hall can also be hired as an extra space in which to serve refreshments.
